Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Leak: Bigger Screen, Faster Chip, Higher Price

Samsung's upcoming Fan Edition smartphone may come with some significant upgrades, but also a steeper price tag, according to recent leaks. The Galaxy S24 FE is rumored to sport the largest display ever seen in the FE lineup, along with flagship-level processing power. However, these improvements may come at a cost to budget-conscious consumers.

Bigger and Better?

The most notable change appears to be in the display department. Leaks suggest the S24 FE will feature a 6.7-inch screen, a substantial increase from the 6.4-inch panel on its predecessor. This would bring the FE model much closer in size to Samsung's top-tier Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Under the hood, the S24 FE is expected to pack some serious processing muscle. Depending on the region, it may come equipped with either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400 chip - the same processors found in the flagship S24 series. However, there's a catch: these chips might be slightly downclocked compared to their full-fledged counterparts in the main S24 lineup.

The Price of Progress

While these upgrades sound promising, they come with a potential downside. According to reports from WinFuture, the Galaxy S24 FE could see a price increase of around €100 (approximately $100) compared to the previous model. This would push the starting price to $699, up from the S23 FE's $599 launch price.

Interestingly, despite the price hike, the base model is expected to retain 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage - the same configuration as its predecessor. The camera setup is also rumored to remain largely unchanged.

A Tough Sell?

The reported price increase, coupled with minimal changes to core specs like RAM, storage, and cameras, may make the S24 FE a harder sell for some consumers. The device's appeal will likely hinge on how much value potential buyers place on the larger display and updated processor.

As with all leaks and rumors, it's important to take this information with a grain of salt until Samsung makes an official announcement. The Galaxy S24 FE is expected to launch sometime in the coming months, possibly as soon as next month. Only then will we know for certain if these upgrades justify the rumored price increase in Samsung's more affordable flagship offering.
